How To Pick the Perfect Goggles for Swim Lessons

Not sure which goggles are right for your swimmer? Here's 8 things to consider to help you choose the right ones.... plus scroll to the bottom for our favourite goggles!

ree

Size & Fit

Goggles should fit comfortably on the face, have adjustable straps, and come with multiple nose piece sizes .

Many goggles come in different sizes, so it’s essential to try them on before purchasing.

Exposed, or Covered Nose?

Choose goggles that expose the nose!

To learn the correct breathing technique for swimming, swimmers must expose their noses in the water!

Lens Type

Clear lenses are suitable for indoor swimming, and tinted or mirrored lenses are ideal for outdoor swimming (to reduce glare from the sun).

Anti-Fog Coating

Look for goggles with an anti-fog coating to prevent condensation and maintain clear vision while swimming.

Goggles with this feature can actually save precious lesson time, because swimmers won't need to stop swimming to clear the fog from their goggles.

UV Protection

Goggles with UV protection help shield the eyes from UV rays when swimming outside or by windows.

Brand Reputation

Consider purchasing from reputable brands known for their quality and durability, like Speedo, TYR, or Aqua Sphere.

Gasket Material

Goggles with polycarbonate lenses are shatter-resistant and provide better protection against impact.

Fun Colors & Designs

For younger swimmers, consider goggles with bright colors and fun designs to add some more excitement to their swimming lessons!
